Catalogue Note

First edition, in the original parts, of one of the most famous colorplate books on Greece. These were published as a selection, in larger format, of some of the quarto plates in Dodwell's Classical and Topographical Tour through Greece (1819). Many of the plates were colored by the engravers and Abbey notes that "the plates which are engraved and colored by Havell are outstanding."
