2 volumes bound in 8, 4to (10 x 8 1/4 in.; 254 x 210 mm). Engraved portrait by J. Heath after Joshua Reynolds, 2 plates, extra-illustrated with approximately 919 plates of which 96 are hand-colored, consisting of engraved, etched and mezzotint portraits and views inlaid to size or mounted (some folding), each volume is supplied with a facsimile title page in addition to the two originals in their proper position; occasional light spotting or soiling. Antique dark-green straight-grain morocco, triple fillet border, spines richly gilt, dentelles, all edges gilt; slight rubbing to some extremities, an occasional scuff mark.
