Letterpress title, dedication leaf, letter to the King and Prospectus, List of Engravings, "To the Subscribers" leaf at end, 25 stipple engravings partly printed in color and partly finished by hand, mounted on boards with printed labels mounted on verso, all on guards, by T. Cheesman, P.W. Tomkins, A. Cardon, R. Woodman, Schiavonnetti, E. Scriven, John Scott, etc. after paintings by Ghirlandaio, Raphael, Andrea del Sarto, Poussin, etc.; some marginal soiling and thumbing. Contemporary maroon straight-grain morocco, decorated in gilt and blind in a panel design with a gilt lozenge in the central panel, spine gilt, edges gilt, gilt-ruled turn-ins, green endleaves, black silk placeholder; head of spine torn, foot of spine chipped, edges rubbed, corners bumped, a few scrapes on covers, small inkmark on fore-edge.
