Catalogue Note

A rare album of views. Abbey's speculation that the artist was John Le Capelain (1812-1848) seems unlikely as that Jersey artist spent most of his life in the attic of his parent's house in St. Helier, though he travelled and painted in France and in Scotland for brief periods.
