Half-title and title printed in red and black, engraved portrait by Delannoy after Sandoz and Trigault, 85 wood-engraved plates by Doré, wood-engraved text illustrations. Contemporary red crushed morocco, gilt-ruled border and gilt-tooled frame à la fanfare, edges gilt, dentelles, by Chambolle-Duru dated 1868, in a marbled boards slipcase; a few slight signs of wear in the edges.



With: a suite of 47 proof copies of the illustrations for the above including a planche refusée, in a leatherette album.
