Catalogue Note
Rare complete set of these elegantly beautiful views of historic sites, streets and monuments in Amsterdam. Originally published in fascicules of five plates each, many of the views are enlivened by representations of people while several depict interiors with large groups.
The publisher, Frans Buffa, was an art dealer in the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam, and a well-known publisher of art books and print-series in the first half of the 19th century.
