Folio text (20 x 15 in.; 515 x 375 mm) with 1 tinted lithograph portrait of Commodore Perry after a daguerreotype by Philip Haas with facsimile signature on the mount and 9 chromolithographs printed by Sarony & Co. on india paper (13 1/8 x 9 1/2 in.; 335 x 240 mm) and mounted on card uniform in size with text leaves; title-page foxed, minor dampstaining in upper right corner of text leaves, card mounts foxed and spotted. Text bound in tinted pictorial wrappers, blue cloth backstrip; upper wrapper soiled. Housed in a half red morocco over brown textured cloth portfolio, upper cover lettered gilt; backstrip and corners worn.
