Paris: [Lacrambe for] Beauger et Cie, 1841. 8vo, half-title, wood engraved text illustrations by Grandville, Gavarni, Daumier, Traviès, Lécurieur, & Henri Monnier; a very occasional tiny marginal spot, contemporary blue quarter morocco and pebbled cloth, blindstamped covers with interlaced strapwork, spine gilt; some light wear at extremities. Ray, French, p. 300 — Daumier, Honoré. Les Cent et Un Robert-Macaire composés et dessinés par H. Daumier, sur les Idées et les Légendes de M. Ch. Philipon ... Paris: [Lacrampe for] chez Aubert et Cie, 1840. 2 volumes, large 8vo, half-title, 101 lithographic colored plates by Daumier, reduced version of his famous suite [Caricaturana] which appeared 1836-1838; light browning and marginal soiling, some spotting in preliminary leaves, publisher's black pebbled cloth with gilt-stamped frame of leafy tendrils, spines and edges gilt; extremities rubbed.
