Limited edition, copy 37 on japan from a total edition of 252 copies, with an extra suite of the frames printed in black and white on chine. "Mucha's designs, like Grasset's, are sometimes narative, sometimes decorative, but his human figures are more elegant and graceful than his predecessor, and his decorations are Byzantine and Czech in style rather than Gothic. ... John Lewis calls Mucha's complex creation the most representative of all Art Nouveau books" (Ray, French 366).
