2 volumes, 4to (12 7/8 x 9 1/8 in.; 326 x 232 mm). Half-titles, engraved portrait, additional engraved title-page (with imprint dated 1773) by Montulay, 72 engraved plates by Tilliard after Charles Monnet, 24 engraved summaries; some marginal spotting and occasional light browning. Contemporary red straight-grain morocco,  gilt roll-tooled banners and rules in the border with leafy bowers, spines gilt, edges gilt; a few small scuff marks and stains in covers, extremities chipped with some mending.
