Additional engraved title on vellum by Thomas Tomkins, engraved portrait of Lord Grenville, 114 hand-colored plates including 64 aquatint views (all in three states except  no. 25 Queens College Chapel which is in two states, no. 38 New College/ Magdalen College entrance gates in two states,  and no. 98 Porch of St. Mary/ Staircase Christ Church in four), 17 stipple and line-engraved costume plates (in two states) and 33 stipple and line-engraved portraits of founders (in two states); occasional light marginal spotting especially on uncolored plates, text leaves lightly browned. Handsome antique red straight-grain morocco, decorated in gilt and blind in a panel design with central lozenge, spine gilt, all edges gilt, red silk placeholders; extremities rubbed.
