Catalogue Note
A fine, unopened copy of the scarce first separate publication of a work by Crane. One of approximately thirty-five known copies. Crane published Maggie at his own expense in an edition of 1,100 copies; but sold only two through Brentano's, the subject matter being too frank for most booksellers, just as it had been for publishers.
