Catalogue Note

A very fine copy of the deluxe edition of Churchill's life of his ancestor, the first duke of Marlborough, aided by his exclusive access to the archives at Blenheim. Published in four volumes between October 1933 and September 1938 it immediately became accepted as one of the classics of historical writing.
