Catalogue Note
A variant red cloth binding not known to BAL. This collection of six stories includes both "Bartelby" and "Benito Cereno". Most of the stories first appeared in Putnam's Monthly Magazine. The volume had a mixed reception. The English edition was set from the American sheets.
