Hawaii's last monarch writes to about the publication of her celebrated book, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen (1898). In these two letters, she discusses with her cousin William changes to made to the manuscript. "I am glad to know your opinions on my manuscript as well as that of your Reader of M. S. S. That he is a person in whom you have great confidence. This is sufficient for me to acquiese in all criticisms that he may make ... Of course I would like to read the manuscript after he has made his corrections ...
"He thinks that I should have given more pages to explaining the circumstances leading to the political revolution in Hawaii but I thought the subject was worn out .... I notice he thinks it is injudicious on my part to accuse the 'public press,' ... — although it is a fact. — well might need not say more about that."
Liliuokalani also mention the songbook she is working on and another of her books, The Tradition of Creation.
