Condition
Canvas is lined. SURFACE: in good overall condition UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: hard to see through old varnish, but scattered inpainting is evident: a few strokes at upper right (on wooden beam attached to wall); scattered dots on subject's shoulder and on his suit; two repaired tears--one, about 4 in. long and diagonal, starts at his thighs and goes down past his knees and out onto wall (in the shape of a "Y"); the other tear, about 3 in. long, crosses his ankles
