Catalogue Note

Four Editions of the famous speech by "America's constant friend, the good Bishop of St. Asaph" (Ben Franklin). Shipley (1714-1788), an MP, prepared this speech in protest when Parliament was discussing punitive measures against the city of Boston after the Tea Party outrage, but he was not allowed to present it, and so opted for publication.
