- saucer 11.2cm., 4¼in., teabowl 4.4cm., 1¾in.
the octagonal teabowl moulded with prunus, the fluted saucer of kiku shape, both gilded, the saucer decorated in the manner of Jean Bérain with exotic figures, masks, monkeys and birds all within a framework of scrolls, the underside of the saucer and the teabowl with a formal frieze of floral motifs, both with finely engraved details minor chips to saucer
Condition
The rim of the saucer has six flutes with small chips, one of these has an associated fine crack running for approximately 2cm. visible on the underside. There are also two flutes with chips which have been gilded over. There is a little very minor rubbing to the gilding in the centre of the saucer.
