Description

  • Walnut, fruitwood, oak, glass, metal
  • 209cm. high, 168cm. wide, 38cm. deep; 6ft. 10¼in., 5ft. 6in., 1ft. 3in.
the compound serpentine cornice above a canted glazed compartment with two doors on a conforming base within scroll carved canted front corners, some damage and lacking feet

Acquired by Wilfrid Evill until sold Sotheby's, The Wilfrid Evill Collection,  19 July 1963, lot 205 and purchased, through an agent, by Honor Frost

Condition

Generally in fair to poor condition. With veneer cracks, stains, chips, losses with some old repair and filler throughout. The crest is detached. One glass panel cracked. One section of moulding missing to the carved canted front corner. Splits to timber on both sides. Lining fabric distressed. Decorative, interesting shape.
