Provenance

With The Zwemmer Gallery, Lichfield Street, London, where acquired by Wilfrid Evill as an 'Ancient Tanagra figurine' (£22), 1 December 1949 and thence by descent to Honor Frost.

Condition

Restored by Plowden & Smith, through Lord Gowrie, 1992. Repair to neck. Filling and making good of colour. Losses to extremities including fingers and toes. The piece has a delibrately aged appearance. The velvet stand is very tired. Very decorative.
