in terre de Lorraine, the nymph seated on a rock surprised by the swan with outstretched wings at her feet, the circular pedestal base modelled with waterweeds and water flowing over it, Leda extensively restored
Provenance
Purchased Sotheby's, October 1949 for £32. Formerly in the Paget Collection.
Condition
Leda'a right arm has been broken off at the elbow and the fingers on her right hand ave also been restored. Her upper body and head also appear to have been broken off and restored. The tip of the swan's beak appears to have been restored. The swan's outstretched wing also appears to have been restored along its rim. There is a fine crack through the swan's right leg.
