the plump face delicately carved with bow-shaped eyes, half-closed in meditation beneath slightly bulging eyelids and deeply cut brows arching down to the sharp nose, with full lips and chin, the smooth forehead below finely combed locks at the hairline, drawn up into an elegant chignon secured by an elaborate diadem

The head is in fair overall condition with the exception of a 30 x 0.8cm., split to the back, minor chips and loss to the head-dress, minor age cracks to the front of the face, and wear and loss to the painted surface.
