  • interlaced Ls enclosing dateletter y for 1776, conjoined VD mark for gilder Jean-Baptiste-Emmanuel Vandé père,  mark of two dots inside footrim for Jean-Baptiste Tandart l'aïné

pot à l'eau tourné, with a scrolling leaf handle, decorated with a green ground reserved with a hanging bunch of pink roses tied with  ribbons painted by Jean-Baptiste Tandart l'aïné, richly gilded

Purchased from Nyberg, August 1946, for £63.

Condition

Under the lower terminal of the handle there is a very shallow chip approximately 5mm long. There are a few fine scratches to the gilding in the lower portion of the jug.
