Description

  • Mahogany, brass and textiles
the padded oblong back with a shaped top rail, part reeded down-scrolled filled arms and cushioned seat on sabre legs with anthemion carved headers

Condition

Very decorative. Wear to gilt metal mounts. Upholstory tired and dirty. Old marks and scratches throughout. Left upright with loss to veneer. Cresting rail with lifting to veneer on right hand side. The front left leg with fracture and repair. The front right leg with filled holes from strengthening screws and fracture above anthemion motif. Traces of worm and loss of veneer on left side rail. Rear right leg with crude repair, crack and insertion of wood baton to this site. A very decorative chair that would benefit from workshop attention.
