The work is in generally excellent original condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no apparent signs of retouching.
Held under glass in a painted and gilt plaster frame; unexamined out of frame.

Both The Sweep of the Hills and Windy Day depict views towards Duncton Hill, on the South Downs, from the edge of Greenleaves wood.
