Catalogue Note

One of Moore's earliest drawings and also one of very few portrait likenesses to survive. The subject is Edna Ginesi, a fellow student with Moore at Leeds School of Art and at the Royal College of Art, and known to all as 'Gin' as she hated the name Edna. She married Moore's great friend Raymond Coxon and they were to remain friends throughout their lives.
