Description

  • heights 25 1/2 in. and 29 in.
  • 65 cm; 74 cm
the first after the Apollo Belvedere, on waisted socle; the second after the Augustus of Prima Porta, the cuirass carved separately. 2 pieces.

Condition

Apollo: Chipping and wear throughout, especially around edges of socle and lower edge of bust where it meets the socle. Remnant of a signature (possibly a later addition) on underside of bust. Rust stains. Surface dirty. Black flecks visible in catalogue photo are inclusions in the marble. Augustus: weathering and chips throughout. Lower edge of neck with a gap where it fits into ciurassed shoulders, may need to be adjusted for proper stable assembly.
