Catalogue Note

Jean-Pierre Louis, maître in 1787.

The 1833 inventory of St. Cloud lists "deux fauteuils idem" as no. 1691. No. 1690 was "une bergère bois et étoffe idem." It is possible the two numbers were transposed. They are part of a mahogany set "en gondole" from the Salon du Premier aide de camp du Prince (Louis Philippe's eldest son).
