Catalogue Note

"Richard Haden's sculptures are deceptively simple in form. Haden uses wood to simulate the appearance of metal or plastic by sculpting well known objects. By doing so, he challenges the relationship between form and content by playing on pre-conceived preceptions. Haden's manipulation of reality places him alongside other artist's focused on the illusion of trompe- l'oeil."
