Condition
To the naked eye:
The painting is in overall good condition.
It's painted on an oak panel made with one non cradled plank.
It's under a very old and matt varnish that whitens.
There are some lacks of painting particularly on the edges, due to the friction of the frame. Some slight lacks in the hairs, the body and the sleeves.
There is one tiny lack (one centimeter square) in the center on the lower part.
Some traces of insects galleries.
Two small horizontal lacks (one centimeters each) near the left eye of the character.
Under UV lamp:
Under an old varnish. No visible recent restorations.
