Condition
To the naked eye:
The painting is in a fairly satisfactory condition.
It's painted on a paper laid down on panel made with two non cradled planks.
Under a very dirty varnish.
There are some bubble on the neck, the background and the chest. They are due to problem during the laid down.
There are some traces of insect galleries who crossed two times the paper, in the upper right corner and above the head on the left.
There is a horizontal tear (one centimeter long) on the left edge close to the eye.
There is a trace of an old oblique fold (twenty centimeters) going to the left edge to the mouth.
Under UV light:
Under a green thick uniform varnish.
Some very old retouching on the chest, on the right corner of the lips.
