To the naked eye: The painting is in moderately good condition. It has been relined a bit strongly fifty years ago. Under an old dirty varnish. There are some surface problems (especially in the chest of the Madeleine) probably due to the relining. There is a network of cracks a bit visible. There are restorations in the background, in the chest, on the lower part of the face. There are also some worn places in the skin due to an old cleaning. Under UV lamp: The painting is under a green, old and uniform varnish. There are restorations scattered on the background. Some quite important restorations in the face, the chest and the arm. Some slight retouching in the upper part of the skull.
