Some very minor retouchings One retouching on the trousers of the man on the left and one below his trousers in the background The painting is in good condition.

Catalogue Note

il s'agit d'un détail de la partie droite de l'immense tableau d'Horace Vernet (4 ,89 x 23,39 m) relatant la prise de la Smalah d'Abd El Kader par le duc d'Aumale à Taguin (Algérie), le 16 mai  1843. Commandé dès 1843, donc très peu de temps après l'événement, le tableau fut exposé au Salon de 1845 et se trouve aujourd'hui au musée de Versailles.
