Condition
This painting is in good condition overall. There are watermark spots on the middle left margin (between the beach and the ocean). Foxing on the upper resgister is visible upon close inspection. Slight undulation of paper is observed, and is presumably consistent with its age and the medium. Framed.

Catalogue Note
A French travel painter, Léa Lafugie arrived Asia in 1925. She extensively traveled around Southeast Asia, China and Japan exhibiting her works in Batavia and Singapore.
Léa Lafugie, was widely admired for her ethnographic precision and remarkable thematic portraits, landscapes and interiors – which distinguished her in the School of Travel Painters. After spending more than twenty years in Asia, Lafugie returned to France in 1946, until today her works continue to be respected among collectors around the world. Le Mékong (circa 1920) denotes simplicity and beauty of the people in the Village of Mékong.
