Condition
This painting has been lined with wax as an adhesive. The paint layer is heavily varnished and cleaning may be beneficial. However, the painting could also be hung as is.
Under ultraviolet light there is a restoration visible in the sky to the right of the tall pine tree and also to the left in the sky. There are other small retouches, one in the mountain on the left and a couple of other on the right side. In the landscape itself there is only a spot above the figures on the path. The remainder of the picture seems to be healthy. The painting should be cleaned which will brighten the work and allow for an opportunity to reexamine the restorations.
