Condition

Oil on canvas. The surface is dirty and covered with a layer of slightly yellowed varnish. There is minor paint loss around the edges. Very nice texture to surface. The lines from the stretcher and partially visible through canvas and there is minor craquelure, particularly underneath the ribbon. Under UV pigment fluoresces in building along the ridge edge, along the length of the upper edge, above the woman's head, to the left of the woman's face, near the bottom center along the edge, and in the lower left corner. Varnish prevents a conclusive analysis, but it appears this work has had some restoration completed. Held in a white painted wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.
