Oil on canvas. The surface is dirty and covered with a layer of yellowed varnish. The surface has areas of craquelure, particularly in the vertical strip of white pigment at center. There is a very minor chip to the surface paint near the lower center of the composition. The horizontal stretcher mark can be seen through the canvas across the top edge. Under UV, pigments fluoresce along the stretcher mark and in the moon. There are spots of pigment that fluoresce in the water and sky in the upper right quadrant of the composition, but varnish prevents a conclusive analysis. Held in a silver painted wood frame with cloth slip. Unexamined out of frame.
