Condition
This painting is on canvas and is stretched around yet not adhered to a board. The paint layer in many areas is three dimensional and extremely thick; Tchelitchew has created a work of sculpture in a good part of the face. All of this paint is stable, even though there is very slight movement to the linen in a few waves, particularly around the head. Other than dusting the work with a fine brush, no areas require restoration. It is possible that there have been restorations, but none are identifiable and it is unlikely that there are any.
