of tapered form set on four bracket feet, the body decorated brightly-colored stylized cockerels and geometric ornament reminiscent of folk embroidery, the lower border enameled in champlevé with a Russian aphorism saying that friends are abundant in feasting and drinking, but one is alone in sorrow, the front with a view of the Moscow Kremlin seen from the river in niello, the hinged, conical cover with raised pierced border and circular beaded enamel flower-head, the handle set with a brightly-colored stylized cockerel resting on the shaped baluster handle
