the body decorated with brightly colored champlevé enamels in imitation of peasant embroidery with figures of birds, women, and floral ornament; applied to the front of the tea glass holder is an engraved and enameled plaque resembling the facade of a peasant cottage with ornate wood carving, the center of the plaque with a scene of merchants seated at a table set with a samovar drinking tea, all set on a foot cast and chased to resemble a rocky landscape interrupted by leafy plants, the handle similarly cast and chased to simulate twisted wooden branches, the thumb rest draped with a trompe l'oeil folded napkin with champlevé enamel ornament simulating embroidered borders, the interior gilded
