  • the oklad by the First Moscow Artel, Moscow, circa 1910; the halo apparently unmarked
  • Tempera on wood panel, gilded silver, enamel, velvet

depicting St. John the Baptist at half length, with filigree robes and shaded enamel halo, the oklad incised to resemble the sun's rays

Condition

the oklad with some minor dents and enamel loss consistent with age; the icon would benefit from a cleaning
