the icon painted on metal, depicting the resurrection of Christ as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew 28: 2-4 in which an angel of the Lord has descended to open Christ's tomb, the angel's appearance being so bright that it rendered the Roman soldiers guarding the tomb "as dead men," above them Christ ascends in glory, the gilded silver basma oklad chased with stylized strapwork, the gilded frame with applied twisted cable decoration

some minor damage to the surface of the icon from the back of the oklad, the frame with some loss of gilding
