of shield form, below an Imperial crown and black enamel ribbon surround inscribed '1st Railway Battalion', the front applied with Imperial cipher of Alexander III, the reverse enamelled in opaque black within translucent red border and applied with an Imperial eagle, the white enamel ribbon named 'Dmitry Isidorovich Sverchkov / 1900-1904', unmarked
