Description

  • Silver, gold, enamel, diamond
  • width: 10.2cm, 4in.
the reeded ends flanking a central band of royal blue enamel over wavy diaper engine-turning within two-colour gold chased leaf borders, rose-cut diamond-set pushpiece and thumbpiece, the interior fitted with four compartments, three of which lidded, divided by a hinged mirrored panel, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 72 and 88 standards, French import mark

Condition

The base has been re-enamelled; the colour is well-matched and consistent, but the surface is uneven. There is an enamel loss at the front to the left of the pushpiece which has been poorly restored; this is visible in the catalogue photo. There is a smaller enamel loss at the back near the hinge. Very good weight. We recommend that clients who are interested in bidding on this object should view it in person.
