the bombé sides later enamelled in translucent scarlet red over engine-turned waves within plain foot and rim borders, the handle formed as a scroll enclosing a 5 rouble gold coin of Catherine II dated 1769, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 72 standard, scratched inventory number 51442

Purchased by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna for 225 roubles on 17 April 1896, at which time the charka was enamelled grey

Condition
As noted in the catalogue description, this object has been re-enamelled. The interior surface of the bowl is slightly irregular. The gold with minor surface scratches.
