  • height excluding loop: 47mm; length of brooch:11cm
octagonal, surmounted with Imperial crown, the front applied with enamel civic arms of Voronezh, Kursk, Ekaterinoslav, Tambov, Astrakhan, Saratov and centered with the arms of the regiment of Rostov-upon-Don region, the reverse named G. Schwabach and dated 1893; with replacement suspension ring bearing Austrian import marks and mounted on a gold Austrian brooch suspender marked AR and also carrying miniature Orders and Medals, comprising: Belgium, Order of Leopold; Austria, State award (lacking centre); Austria, Military Merit Cross; Austria, Order of Merit of the Republic Badge, with Vatican, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifica Cross; Austria, Order of Merit of the Republic Star, with Austria, Military Merit Cross

Front: restoration to enamel throughout. Reverse: there is retoration to the enamel to the right corner and to the ribbon.

Catalogue Note

On the 1st August 1893 the private Gryazi-Tsaritsinskaya and Kozlovo-Voronezhsko-Rostovskaya railways merged with state-run Orlovsko-Gryazinkoy and Livonskoy railways under the management of South-Eastern Railways stock venture. Traversing the provinces of Voronezh, Orlov, Tula, Tambov, Saratov and Kursk the railways linked the coal-basin of Donetsk region with the Central industrial, Volga regions and Siberia. A gold jeton such as the offered one gave the bearer free travel in 1st Class carriage.
