Catalogue Note

Among the fourteen photographs of teenage girls aged 13 to 15, seven were shot in a special prison for youth offenders in Ryazan. These girls were convicted of murder in cold blood. The other seven girls were shot in a prestigious Moscow school. The viewer is challenged to decide for themselves which seven of the fourteen are murderers and which are innocent.
