Condition
The canvas has been lined. There is ingrained dirt to some of the impasto in the sky and lines of craqulure of varying size are visible in places. UV light reveals areas of infilling to the craquelure in the centre of the composition, to the top of the sky, with some further spots of retouching to the bottom and edges of the canvas and also to the corners. An area of sweeping retouching is visible to the front section of the road and several other patches of similar 'toning in' to the sky. Held in a simple gold painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
