Condition
The panel is sound. The colours have slightly faded, otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in an oval gold painted wooden frame with carvings. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
Ivan Pokhitonov was a close friend of Charles Duchesne, who was killed in action at Romsée during the invasion of Belgium in the first week of World War I. On his death Pokhitonov became the guardian of his daughter, Ginette.
