Condition

Original canvas which is undulated in places. There are flecks of dirt in the sky and along the left edge. There is a faint stretcher mark running vertically down the left edge and surface dirt elsewhere. There is some abrasion in the top right corner. UV light reveals an uneven layer of discoloured varnish. Some pigments outlining the horse's head and the whip fluouresce slightly darker. There are no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gold painted plaster frame bearing a Datsiaro label. Unexamined out of frame.
